Introduction
The cooperation with universities of this region, Simon Bolivar University (USB) and Central University of Venezuela (UCV), will involve three major fields: Geology, Geophysics and Geochemistry. The plan is characterised by the mobility of students for a period of 1-2 semesters, following courses and research mainly in the areas of geothermal energy, CO2 sequestration and environmental remediation. Students and research staff will participate in current ongoing investigations carried out by UNICAM researchers in geothermal areas, such as Acquasanta Terme (AP) and Larderello (PI) in Italy. Similarly, it is planned to focus on further development of ongoing research in geothermal areas of northern states of Venezuela. Incoming students, researchers and professors will collaborate in research projects in the areas of geological risks and hazards in partnership with the National Institute for Geology and Volcanology (INGV) centre and the new laboratory of tectonophysics at UNICAM.
Reports and Pictures
- Incoming Staff Mobility for Training, Prof. José Baena, from USB to UNICAM
During the second semester of the a.y. 2023/24, prof. José Baena went to UNICAM to carry out a mobility for Training. During his stay, he carried out a training with projects related to sedimentology and stratigraphy and worked on the ongoing current projects between the two Institutions on fluvial clastic facies and sequential stratigraphy. Field trips related to the above mentioned projects were carried out at the K/T level in Gubbio and at the Monte Vettore's fault. Moreover, he took part in seminars with students. Finally, since the mobility was in February and in that period the incoming student from USB was about to arrive, the professor had the chance to better organize with the UNICAM supervisor the research activities during her mobility.

- Incoming Student mobility for Study, from UCV to UNICAM
During the second semester of the a.y. 2023/24 a student from UCV spent his mobility for study at our University. His research activities, as part of his final degree project, were about the experimental study of crystal mush remobilization through partial melting. The compendium of the activities he made, both academic and personal, allowed him to grow up as a young geoscientist and to forge links with new people and inhabitans of Camerino, making him feel as another member of the Camerte community. It is worth noting that he attended the SGI-SIMP Joint Congress 2024 in Bari and he presented a poster.
