PRE-ADMISSION, ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE, FACILITIES

I AM A PROSPECTIVE STUDENT. WHEN SHOULD I APPLY FOR THE PRE- ADMISSION?
International students interested in enrolling at UNICAM must apply for pre-admission.
Updates and information on documents, deadlines on the homepage at international.unicam.it
If the curriculum receives a positive evaluation, the candidate will be informed and can start  the procedure of pre-enrollment through the portal  UNIVERSIATLY .

ARE THE ADMISSION PROCEDURES THE SAME FOR EU AND NON-EU STUDENTS?
Admission procedures are different for EU and non-EU citizens.

HOW TO OBTAIN THE OFFICIAL FISCAL CODE
Once in Italy you must apply to get the Fiscal Code (Tax Code) issued by the Italian Tax Office.
The Fiscal Code, an alpha-numeric code, identifies a citizen in all their dealings with Public Authorities and Administration Units.
The Welcome Office of UNICAM offers support to apply for it.
The Fiscal code can be also issued by the Embassies. It is suggested to apply for it during the visa application. 
To arrive with the official Fiscal Code is a good practice to avoid bureaucratic problems and save time.
 

I WANT TO APPLY FOR A DEGREE COURSE TAUGHT IN ITALIAN.  WHICH LEVEL OF ITALIAN SHOULD I HAVE?
For degree courses conducted in Italian, you must prove your proficiency in this language.
By law it is required a proficiency at level B2.  International certification of Italian language as CILS,  CELI, Dante Alighieri are preferred.
In alternative it is required to pass the Italian Test.

DO I NEED TO PROVIDE ANY ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE?
For degree courses conducted  in English, you must prove your proficiency in this language.
The International certifications that are preferred  are : ESOL  Cambridge Exams , min. PET,  IELTS - min 5.0, TOEFL/TOEIC, Pearson, Trinity.
The minimum  level required is:
For a Bachelor Degree: B1 (IELTS 5.0/5.5, CAMBRIDGE PET, TOEFL IBT).
For a Master Degree Level B2 IELTS 6.0/6.5, Cambridge First certificate, TOEFL IBT)

DOES THE UNIVERSITY PROVIDE ANY HELP FOR GETTING THE VISA?
The application for an entry visa for study is under personal responsibility.
Students must apply for it through the portal UNIVERSITALY.
The application will be validated by the University with the acceptance letter and sent to the Embassy. For the next step of the procedure of visa application, instructions will be automatically sent by the portal. 
No proof of accommodation is provided by the University.
 

I AM A NEW STUDENT, DOES THE UNIVERSITY PROVIDE ANY ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES?
Students are asked to apply for scholarship.
Scholarships are awarded yearly by ERDIS (Regional Agency for the Entitlement to Higher Education) on the basis of merit and family income and cover food, lodging and tuition fees.
The scholarship call is announced in July at www.erdis.it
The provisionally ranking list of successful students is announced in September.

HOW MUCH IS THE AVERAGE LIVING COST FOR A SINGLE PERSON PER MONTH?
Without a scholarship, the average living cost per student, depending on the accommodation and lifestyle, ranges between €500 and €800. 
With a scholarship, the living expenses range between €200 and €400.

DOES THE UNIVERSITY PROVIDE ANY INSURANCE COVERAGE?
All UNICAM students are covered by law by an insurance in case of accidents occurring inside the university structures.
UNICAM offers first-year students (freshmen) from non-EU countries an additional Health Insurance (Medical Expense Reimbursement) also to help them obtain the first residence permit.

HOW CAN I REACH CAMERINO?
Camerino is located in the Marche Region lying on the eastern side of Central Italy, between the Adriatic Sea and the high Apennine mountains. Camerino is 670m above sea level. 
Winters can be cold and snowy with temperatures between +10°C and -5° C.

HOW DO I CONFIRM MY ENROLMENT, AND WHAT ARE THE PROCEDURES?
Once you are in Italy, to confirm enrolment, you must submit the ORIGINALS of the following documents to  the Student Registry:
- Identity Document (ID or passport);
- Residence Permit or proof of application for a Residence Permit;
- the original High-School diploma or BSc diploma and its Legal Translation, with the official stamps of the Italian Diplomatic Authority (Embassy or Consulate);
- "Dichiarazione di Valore” document (Declaration of Validity), issued by the Italian Diplomatic Authority in the country where the diploma was awarded, in which it is specified that the Diploma has been conferred following completion of a minimum of 12 years of education.
In alternative a Statement of Comparability and Verification issued by CIMEA or by an Enic-Naric centre;
- receipt of the payment of the Regional Tuition Fees.
 

FROM WHERE DO I PICK UP THE RESIDENCE PERMIT APPLICATION AND TO WHERE MUST I SUBMIT IT?
Within 8 working days from your arrival in Italy, the request for the Residence Permit must be sent by post to the Immigration Office.
The application form (KIT, a big envelope with instructions and application form) is available for free at Post Offices.

In case of need, the Welcome office offers support by checking the documents and providing information on the procedure to follow.
The total cost for the residence permit is €118 and it must be renewed every year.

I AM A EUROPEAN STUDENT, DO I NEED TO APPLY FOR A RESIDENCE PERMIT?
EU/EAA citizens do not need to apply for a Residence Permit. 

HOW LONG IT TAKE TO FINALIZE THE ENROLLMENT?
It is difficult to specify precisely. In general, it takes not less than 3 to 4 weeks from the date of the arrival and submission of the documents to the Student Registry before getting the Student's number (Matricola) and the activation of the university credentials.

You have to reset your password at https://vele.unicam.it/recuperapwd/ using your username and personal email address In case of further problems, you must contact the Student Registry.

HOW CAN I GET THE FREE BUS TICKET?
You must go to the Ticket Office of the local bus company.

FROM WHERE CAN I GET MY CANTEEN CARD AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Students get their Canteen Card at the ERDIS Cash Desk. The Card is a swipe card that must be charged in advance in payment machines located in the University Canteens.
Students awarded a scholarship will receive a pre-paid swipe card valid for two meals a day between Monday and Friday.
The average cost for a meal is €6.
 

I HAVE BEEN AWARDED OF AN ERDIS SCHOLARSHIP. TO COMPLETE THE DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED, WHERE CAN I MAKE MY ISEEU, AND HOW?
ISEE-U is a fiscal document certifying the value of a student’s family income and properties. It is issued by the CAAF (Fiscal Assistance centre). To get this mandatory document to confirm the scholarship, you must bring the original fiscal documents about your family’s income and assets  to the local CAAF (Fiscal Assistance centre). The CAAF is responsible for issuing this document.
