Introduction

Our present strategy, with the Sub-Saharan countries, is based on the continuation and boosting of the activities and results previously achieved, and on the extension of similar objectives to other 3 universities with a strong motivation and interest in collaborating with UNICAM for similar purposes.

This extension implies the involvement of the Kenyatta University (KU) in Kenya and the University of Rwanda (RU) in Rwanda.

Both KU and RU constitute new collaboration targets for UNICAM and both are leading universities in their countries, open to global competitiveness. With a very large educational offer in science disciplines, they provide programmes at all the 3 cycles of studies. The first interaction with these universities was moved by common research interests in the fields of veterinary medicine related to malaria research and general control of infectious diseases regarding both human and animals. The interest for exchange of students and staff for a  reciprocal exchange of knowledge was immediately clear. The enlargement of this interaction is one main purpose of this project, with a long-term objective to develop joint offers in master and PhD degrees.
