Introduction
UNESP is the best case of a multi-campus in Brazil with 24 campuses located all over the country. The cooperation started some years ago through collaborative research carried out jointly by UNICAM and UNESP on the chemical characterization of propolis biomass from Brazil. With its dislocated structure UNESP offers a unique opportunity to exploit the country's rich biodiversity, diverse population, and robust healthcare infrastructure. The collaboration is now focused on the area of Pharmacy mainly in plant science, food science, gastronomy, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical technology, and analytical chemistry.
Mobility activities - Reports and Pictures
- Outgoing Staff Mobility for Training
Prof. Giovanni Caprioli and Prof. Filippo Maggi, from University of Camerino → Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio De Mesquita Filho
The mobility of Prof. Caprioli and Prof. Maggi at UNESP aimed to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions, with a focus on joint research projects and student mobility opportunities. During their stay, they met with UNESP researchers to explore potential collaborations, particularly in the fields of biodiversity, medicinal plants and natural products. These exchanges also contributed to the submission of a joint research proposal on infectious diseases within the One Health framework, under the MAECI Italy–Brazil Cooperation in Science and Technology call. The programme included visits to UNESP's research facilities, discussions on future PhD student exchanges and opportunities for joint applications to international funding programmes. The professors also delivered two seminars presenting the research activities of UNICAM's School of Pharmacy and a study on the chemical composition and antioxidant properties of Italian honey.
The mobility provided a valuable opportunity to consolidate existing academic connections and explore new avenues for scientific cooperation between UNICAM and UNESP.

- Incoming Staff Mobility for Training
Prof. Claudio Antonio Talge Carvalho and Prof. Luciane Dias De Olveira, from Universidade Estadual Paulista Julio De Mesquita Filho → University of Camerino
The mobility of Prof. Carvalho and Prof. Oliveira at the University of Camerino aimed to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between UNESP and UNICAM, with a focus on research exchanges and future joint initiatives. During their stay, the professors engaged in meetings and scientific discussions with UNICAM researchers, exploring opportunities for collaboration in natural products, microbiology and interdisciplinary research at the CHIP laboratories. The programme also included a seminar featuring presentations by two postdoctoral researchers and a lecture by Prof. Carvalho entitled “UNESP's Contribution to Science, Education and Global Collaboration”. Particular attention was given to developing joint research projects and planning future mobility activities, including an upcoming Erasmus+ stay by a UNESP PhD student at UNICAM. The visit also included tours of UNICAM's facilities and the city of Camerino, promoting both academic and cultural exchange and further strengthening the partnership between the two universities.
