Introduction

Our present strategy, with the Sub-Saharan countries, is based on the continuation and boosting of the activities and results previously achieved, and on the extension of similar objectives to other 3 universities with a strong motivation and interest in collaborating with UNICAM for similar purposes.
In Cameroon, we plan to boost the activities with the Institut Universitaire De la Cote (IUC), previously involved in the Ka107/20 project, while the extension implies the involvement of the University of Dschang (UDS).

IUC is a large private university in Douala, founded in 2002, with a focus on engineering and its different branches. The department of Architecture and Industrial Design, which offers a two-year programme in civil engineering, has always been supported by UNICAM instructors since 2015, when a MoU was signed. The E+ KA107 project boosted this partnership and led the partnership to a wider scope. The new collaboration strategy aims to promote a more intense exchange with local realities by establishing a more effective link with the business world to reflect together on the opportunities and constraints that exist in both countries.

UDS is one of the most important public universities in Cameroon. It includes 6 faculties and 2 institutes in all the 3 cycles of study, with overlapping (in Sciences and Pharmacy) and complementarity (Agricultural Sciences and Medicine) with UNICAM Schools. UDS and UNICAM have cooperation agreements since 2008. This cooperation has enormously contributed to the development of the pharmaceutical sciences at the faculty of sciences of UDS and led to the institutionalization of the faculty of medicine and pharmaceutical sciences in 2017. The main strategy of the inclusion of UDS in this project is to expand the scientific and teaching collaborations between the institutions in the areas that can  contribute to a sustainable management of natural resources, such as chemistry, food and life sciences, and satisfy the need for greater international openness of research activities, in accordance with both Universities’ strategic plan.
